Geboren in Usbekistan als Tochter koreanischer Eltern, wächst Eleonora Em in einem kulturellen Spannungsfeld auf – zwischen Sprachen, Identitäten und Klangwelten. Schon mit vier Jahren sitzt sie am Klavier und entdeckt in der Musik einen Raum, der Freiheit, Tiefe und Ausdruck zugleich schenkt.
Nach dem mit Auszeichnung abgeschlossenen Musikschulstudium zieht die Familie nach Moskau. Dort tritt Eleonora in das renommierte staatliche Chopin-College ein und wird Studentin von Prof. Xenia Knorre. Bereits während des Studiums gewinnt sie zahlreiche nationale Klavierwettbewerbe – ihren internationalen Durchbruch feiert sie 2007 mit dem 1. Preis und Grand Prix beim Internationalen Klavierwettbewerb Pietro Argento in Italien.
2008 führt sie ihr Weg in die Schweiz – ein Neuanfang und zugleich ein Ankommen. An der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste studiert sie bei Prof. Konstantin Scherbakov und schließt 2010 das Masterstudium in Music Performance mit Auszeichnung ab. 2012 folgt das Solistendiplom, 2014 weitere Diplomas in Musikpädagogik und Klavierperformance bei Prof. Konstantin Lifschitz an der Hochschule Luzern.
Eleonora Em ist eine Künstlerin zwischen den Welten – geprägt von der lyrischen Weite des Ostens und der strukturellen Klarheit des Westens. Sie lebt in der Schweiz, tritt regelmäßig als Solistin, Kammermusikerin und Korrepetitorin auf – mit Orchestern, Chören und Ensembles. Zudem hat sie ein Lehrauftrag an der Kantonsschule Ausserschwyz und der Musikschule Freienbach.
Ihr Spiel ist poetisch und durchdacht, tief verwurzelt und zugleich offen für Neues – eine Einladung zum Hören, zum Spüren, zum Innehalten.

Born in Uzbekistan to Korean parents, Eleonora Em grew up in a rich cultural intersection—between languages, identities, and sound worlds. At the age of four she began playing the piano and discovered in music a space that offered freedom, depth, and expression.
After graduating with distinction from a specialized music school, her family moved to Moscow. There, Eleonora entered the prestigious State Chopin College, where she studied with Prof. Xenia Knorre. During her studies she won numerous national piano competitions, and in 2007 she achieved her international breakthrough by winning First Prize and the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition Pietro Argento in Italy.
In 2008 she moved to Switzerland—both a new beginning and a place of arrival. At the Zurich University of the Arts she studied with Prof. Konstantin Scherbakov and completed her Master’s degree in Music Performance with distinction in 2010. In 2012 she obtained her Soloist Diploma, followed in 2014 by further Diplomas in Music Pedagogy and Piano Performance at the Lucerne School of Music under Prof. Konstantin Lifschitz.
Eleonora Em is an artist between worlds—shaped by the lyrical breadth of the East and the structural clarity of the West. She lives in Switzerland and performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist, collaborating with orchestras, choirs, and ensembles. She also teaches at the Kantonsschule Ausserschwyz and the Music School Freienbach.
Her playing is poetic and thoughtful, deeply rooted yet open to new perspectives—an invitation to listen, to feel, and to pause.
